When I told her I loved her

How was I to know it would build a mountain in my chest

11 days after we met

I told her

That I was willing to look into her eyes for the rest of my life

Whatever wars come her way, she would have me a a soldier

But, fast it came and slow it went

2 years past, the love died

and I wept

Cold tears capped the mountains

Now afraid of its own depth

I wonder,

Did you hear the impermanence in the love that slipped from my tongue prematurely?
